How’d you like the pun? Good eh? No? Sorry. Anyway, with AOL announcing more investment in quality content, this time in streaming video, it’s good to stand back and see how they got to this point. If there is one example of a company still around that has felt both the sweet caress and the [...]

In the latest in their series of Future Vision videos (see the one from 2009 here and the whole channel here) Microsoft again provide their take on how technology will progress and help us in day-to-day tasks in the coming years. If one thing is clear in these videos, it’s that there will be a [...]

Two things that are being increasingly exploited on YouTube for entertainment and advertising purposes are annotations and using the number keys to jump to certain points in the video. The former has possibly been best showcased in the Time To Spy videos from McDonald’s, but also to a less impressive degree (but still very innovative at [...]

This is pretty awful by anyone’s standards. I’m almost loathed to share it. However, I suffered through all 18 seconds so I think it’s only right you do too. If you can’t bear to watch it, it’s an advert for Wonderful Pistachios nuts featuring Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. Clearly their money grabbing antics will never cease.

The RNBI (Royal National Institute of Blind People) released this video back in March to mark World Book Day. There’s not a whole lot to say about it, apart from it’s hard hitting, conveys its message both beautifully and tragically, and will probably make you feel pretty down for a while. Great work, for an [...]

This follows on from the winner of the Nokia Shots competition, Splitscreen: A Love Story, which is also just wonderful. Splitscreen: A Love Story from JW Griffiths on Vimeo. See the [...]

My god, Neuro. Not only do I hate your product, but your attempt at a viral is awful too. If you take a look at their homepage, Neuro, the overpriced flavoured water you may have seen advertised recently, claims to improve weight loss, eliminate stress, improve sleep, increase attention and memory and even promote sexual health. Basically, [...]

We’re well into the summer movie season now and as sure as there will be both box office successes and bombs, we will see products placed in films and movie tie-ins on cereal boxes. While brands like Sony, Pepsi and Reebok are natural partners of Hollywood, slowly but surely advertisers from a wider background are [...]

I see a lot of great campaigns based primarily around generating PR come out of South America (the $73,000 bar tab is one of my favourites) and this is no exception. In fact, it’s brilliant. In order to help men get down the pub instead of to their mother-in-law’s for dinner (why are you so [...]

I like to post the random ads that I come across and so had to post this, which I’ve seen all over the TV this weekend. Wall’s has a history of slightly bizarre spots featuring dogs, although this one takes the prize as the strangest. Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, it features a man conveying his [...]
